Mission Statement:
The WatchCat News-Journal is a University of Arizona-based news entity dedicated to the thorough analysis and commentary of the actions of the UA administration, including the UA Transformation Process. The WatchCat also distributes general news from the City of Tucson that may affect the UA community.
The WatchCat is headed by Shain Bergan. During his tenure on the UA student newspaper, Bergan has been the managing editor, news editor (three times), student government beat writer (twice) and health beat writer for the Arizona Daily Wildcat from 2006 to 2009. He also served on the Daily Wildcat Opinions Board during the fall of 2009.
Bergan has continuously covered the UA Transformation Process since its inception by President Robert Shelton and Provost Meredith Hay in the fall of 2008. He also served as the chairman of the Arizona Student Media Board during the spring of 2009.
Shain, you’re amazing. Why can’t the Daily Wildcat be this good?
